Time flies when you’re having fun….I guess.

Wow, can’t believe it’s been almost 2 weeks since my last post. I guess I’m becoming a local and having fewer “WTF” moments to report back!

Twenty-nine’s been good to me so far. After birthday celebrations calmed down, didn’t do much but get ready for my departure from my “home away from home” – Number One Tower Suites. When “little men” bring you fresh towels every day, open the doors for you, hail you taxis, etc., they become more like family than just the employees at the hotel!

Aside from that….I have to dig back into my rapidly deteriorating memory (I am 29 after all) Ah….last week was Dubai International Fashion Week so Mayada and I went to the Affascimare show Thursday night. After which, we went back to Barasti Bar for our CEO Matt’s going away party.

Friday and Saturday, Desert Rhythm Music Festival was going on just across the street from our office so we went to see Kanye West, Joss Stone and Mika. For those of you who don’t know Mika, he sings the songs on the Target commercials. Over here…he’s huge. I think he may have been the headliner of the festival. He’s half Lebanese so the crowd just went wild for him! Really fun. It’s really bizarre to see directors and senior management dancing around with girlfriends, jumping and screaming for this uber-poppy singer! Quite a sight.

Last week was pretty uneventful after the music festival….oh except Halloween. So fun. Crissy, Nisha, Mila and I went to Irish Village dressed as flappers. There’s only one costume shop in the whole of Dubai and it’s quite pricey so we opted for accessories and whatever we could come up with at home. (don't ask who the random is....there are lots of those)

I think we did alright no? And now the countdown to Thanksgiving begins. We found turkeys at Spinney’s (our grocery store) and for non-Muslims, there’s a hidden pork section so bring on the sausage stuffing!

you have been to more places in one month than I have all year! I will live vicariously through you.

Spinney's? Sounds more like a bar on Rush Street than a grocery store in Dubai.
